Just a quick post to keep up with my little sis the "bug" . I just love the work she is doing on our family tree and the pictures are just awesome. Seeing the one of my grandfather leaning against the stone fence brings back memories. I was fascinated with it, and often wondered who he was. I loved seeing it nestled amongst the clutter of things on the dresser in my mother's bedroom. I can still see the jumble of jewellery, bits of string, paper and dust LOL. She was not fond of housework (but then who is). That dresser full of clutter just seemed like some kind of treasure trove. I especially liked her old jewellery, pearl brooches and earrings. Kinda neat.

Well It's fall again and my absolute favorite time of year. I think my new catch phrase is eloquently put on the new tee-shirt I just bought. I just couldn't resist it as it seemed to fit for this summer. I have to say that we had just bout the best summer for camping ever and it is never too much. But in saying that I have pretty much given up on any further camping trips for the year and have to address putting the flower beds to rest. Mother nature has started that job and now I have to finish it.

Our house reno's have also been put on hold till end of hunting season. So I now have the time to catch up on all my paperwork, filing and sewing jobs that have been put off all summer.

This last weekend I cleaned my entire house, including the mountain of paperwork in my office. Man it feels good to accomplish something like that. Now I can address the sewing and cross-stitching I want to finish for xmas presents. I'm about 1/3 there.

We have had a couple of over night visits from Leonards sister Jeannie and Husband Chuck. In tow was their 13 yr old dog Ziggy and their parrot Chico. Poor zig is blind, deaf, and has to be constantly held. Way too much work for me and Chico is just a yakking fool. Very entertaining vocabulary LOL but a lot of work. Sure was good to have them and we are working on them to retire out here from the coast. It would be lovely to have them closer. One of their sons is getting married next summer and has relocated to the town of Granham just out side of Lethbridge, Ab. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I think life in Surrey is definitely getting to them but they are way too afraid to make the change.

It's funny I never even worry about those kinds of things. I think my nature is to enjoy the change that occurs and look forward to new experiences. It is more exciting than scary to me. With that I will leave off for now as it is late and I will continue another day.

Well here is the picture I wanted to share. Early morning and not a ripple on the lake. Too cold to swim unless it is 90 degrees out but so crystal clear that you can see the trout swimming lazily about.

I just love it here and both Len and I have thought about having our ashes spread out here when the time comes. I actually think my request will be to have them divided and spread the other half under a newly planted rhododendrun shrub in Bowen Park's Rhododendrun garden in Nanaimo. So in reading this Krista I sincerely hope you will be able to help out with this request. I would like to stay close to my two favourite families and my two favourite places.

I am sorry Aleta that I'm not requesting some of me to go to Winnipeg but I think (If you pardon the pun ha ha) that would be spreading me a little too thin.

I had to enclose a pic of the end of our days there. A beautiful sunset fire and a winddown to our lazy summer days.

Well, I've been remiss. Have started a post several times, had trouble inserting pictures (which turn a humdrum blog into a much more imaginative glimpse into our little everyday adventures, get pissed off then quit. So here goes again ha ha! Have had a wonderful summer, work has picked up for us (we are owner/operators of a lottery kiosk in our (Ha Ha!) main mall here in Cranbrook. It is a challenge at times but also very entertaining. Lots of nice people to chat with they all have their stories and enjoy sharing with me. Some of them I would love to take home. They need such nurturing. Some just need an ear to hear them. Man, maybe I am watching too much Dr. Phil.

Camping this year was amazing! My grandson Aden told me several years ago that we were no longer real campers (we have purchased a travel trailer with real bathroom). Real campers only use tents. Out of the mouths of babes! After watching this fellow swim across the lake (yes that is a grizzly bear!) I was very happy to have my trailer and not a tent. At least I can hear the racket while he peels open the wall to eat me.

We have several places that we like to visit. All forestry sites with little or no people, but our favorite is Summer Lake. Two-hour drive up very rough logging roads, with steep and sometimes treacherous cutaways but worth the effort.

There is nothing like it for R & R and some of the best lake trout anywhere. This is coming from a non-fish eating person. I am very selective with fish and was amazed at how wonderful these guys are.

I'm not much of a fisher person yet, but will try it a little more next year. My idea of camping is to enjoy the scenery in my camp chair with a good book or my current cross-stitch project. I'll probably try to take some lap quilting next season. Absolutely the best trip would be to take my daughter and her family up here. I know they would enjoy it immensely. Hint! Hint! Krista Anyway I will close this entry with a last look at our favorite spot. Pardon me, I will not close with the pic but will open a new entry as blogger is not cooperating again. Does anyone know if you are limited to two pics per post? It only seems to allow me two? Anyway ta ta for now.
